More expensive alternative: buy a new “Mesh” router system. Running an Ethernet cable between these two spaces is probably difficult, which is why you’re looking for a repeater as an option, but I promise it’s worth it. Recommended alternative: figure out a way to hardwire the AirPort Express to your router, set the AirPort Express to Bridge Mode (AP Mode? I wouldn’t recommend using an AirPort Express as a repeater.ġ) It’s not strictly intended to be a repeater (though the feature did exist at one point, not sure if it’s still there)Ģ) “Repeating” WiFi on single radio devices halves (or worse) bandwidth and adds significant latency. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theory I have to do a reset on the Airport Express and try again.
